A storage business in Sowerby Bridge has expanded its premises and built a 7,000 sq ft warehouse after receiving support from Yorkshire Forward. Family-run Michael Heap Storage has already recruited two extra staff following the expansion and plans to employ more staff in the next few months. The company was set up in 1948 by Michael Heap, who has since retired. It is now run by Mr Heap’s son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Brigid.
The Watson Mill Lane business received a grant from Yorkshire Forward to build the archive storage on derelict land. It stores documents and records without risk of deterioration. The company already provides containerised and furniture storage for commercial business and domestic customers.
